So its been quite a while since iOS 6 was released and those users who had jailbroken their previous devices are now left with almost nothing. So here's a solution for all those who want to jailbreak their idevices running iOS 6.0/6.0.1.
Before we move further users should note this jailbreak is a tethered jailbreak and is only for pre-A5 devices (iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4th generation) only.
A tethered jailbreak means that every time you boot your idevice the boot process will fail and will be stuck on the apple logo to solve this you need to reboot it using your computer.(will be shown further in the tutorial)
Users should note that although this is a tried and tested method I am not responsible for any damage caused to your idevice and that you are doing this totally at your own risk.
Step 1:- Firstly you need to download the jailbreaking software(redsn0w as in our case). Download the redsn0w 0.9.13 dev 3 from here
Step 2:- Connect your device to your computer and place it into DFU mode. (redsn0w should identify your device in DFU mode) >>> Click Extras >>> Select IPSW
Step 3:- Now you need to select the IPSW of your iOS 6.0 firmware. (around 807MB file).
For those using windows you will find it here:- Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
For those using Mac you will find it here :- ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
Step 4:- Once the IPSW is selected it should successfully identify the build. Then click Back >>> Jailbreak >>> Next. Now Redsn0w will process and you will see many changes on your screen like different logos and
a series of codes and then your iDevice will boot with the apple logo. Now your device is jailbroken!!!. But Cydia is not yet installed.
Step 5:- Now again put your device into DFU mode and then go to Redsn0w and then click Extras >>>Select IPSW(select the same IPSW) >>> Just boot. This will perform a tethered boot and your device will boot with
a pineapple logo. This process may take some time. After this you will return to your home screen and you will see Cydia installed.
Thats it!! Now you have jailbroken your device and you will be able to use all the tweaks.
