U.S. PC manufacturer Dell has launched a $499 Windows 8 tablet in the form of the Latitude 10.
Dell claims the device is the "first full-featured, enterprise-ready Windows 8 tablet experience at a price below $500." It runs on a 32-bit Windows 8 version and is powered by a dual-core Intel Atom 1.8GHz Z2760 processor.
Its 10.1-inch IPS (1,366x768) LCD boasts Corning Gorilla Glass technology, as well as capacitive 10 Finger Touch support. 2 GB of SDRAM and 32 GB of solid-state storage are also included.
Dell pointed out that the Latitude 10 "does not require new mobile device management or software licensing, supports new and legacy Windows applications, is compatible with Adobe Flash and connects with existing peripherals."
During CES 2013, Dell unveiled an upgraded model for its XPS 13 ultrabook, which will launch later this month.
